A donkey shuffled house from the market, buckling underneath a crushing load of products. Beside him trotted a horse, carrying completely nothing.
Midway by the journey, the donkey’s legs started to tremble. “Please,” he gasped, “assist me share this weight earlier than I collapse.”
The horse simply flicked his ears and walked on.
Because the highway turned steeply uphill, the donkey pleaded twice extra, determined for reduction. On the ultimate try, the horse scoffed, “Superb, I’ll assist. You retain carrying the luggage, and I’ll do the groaning and heavy respiration for you.”
Just a few steps later, the donkey’s legs gave out solely. He collapsed into the mud and couldn’t get again up.
With no different selection, the farmer unloaded each single bag, bundle, and crate from the fallen donkey and piled them onto the horse.
For the remainder of the journey, the donkey walked forward, fully free—whereas the horse stumbled behind, groaning and panting underneath a burden twice as heavy because the one he had refused to share.
The Lesson: > By no means ignore a cry for assist simply because the burden isn’t in your again but. Refusing to share a bit weight as we speak typically means carrying your complete load tomorrow.
