An aged woman arrived at church one Sunday morning.
As she walked in, a pleasant usher greeted her and requested,
“Ma’am, the place would you want to sit down?”
“I’d like to sit down within the very entrance row,” she replied.
The usher smiled nervously and stated,
“Oh no, ma’am. You actually don’t wish to sit there. Our pastor could be very boring. He’ll most likely put you to sleep. Let me discover you a greater seat.”
The lady appeared shocked.
“Sir,” she requested, “are you aware who I’m?”
The usher hesitated.
“No, ma’am.”
She replied,
“I’m the pastor’s mom.”
The usher instantly lowered his head in embarrassment.
After an extended, awkward pause, he appeared again up and requested,
“Ma’am… are you aware who I’m?”
She answered,
“No.”
With an enormous sigh of aid, he smiled and stated,
“Thank God!”
